Job Vacancies:C&F Porter Novelli: PR Fundamentals Internship Graduate Trainees Programme 2010


The PR Fundamentals Internship Programme aims to foster a pool of talented and innovative individuals who can be identified and engaged by the Public Relations industry.
Throughout the 12-month programme Interns shall participate in a mixed environment of classroom and apprenticeship learning. This approach ensures that interns are optimally prepared as PR professionals both theoretically and practically. 


Classroom Learning
Classes shall be held every day for the first week of the Program and weekly thereafter during the course of the regular workdays. Classes of feature shall include lectures by staff experts and discussions emphasizing the fundamental skills of public relations.  


Apprenticeship Learning


Interns will spend most period of their internship as integral member of Account Teams gain exposure to every facet of the Public Relations business.  Through this experience Interns shall be educated on the fundamental skills of public relations: e.g. writing, media monitoring, media relations, electronic media, special event planning, new business presentation and more.
Those who display aptitude and interest for thought leadership may be posted to the Research and Planning Department which focuses on developing PR insights, innovation and quality assurance for C&F Porter Novelli clients and the agency as a whole.

Programme Timeline

The PR Fundamentals Internship Programme runs for a period of 12-month commencing in January. The classroom and apprenticeship segments shall be hosted at C&F Porter Novelli’s Lagos office in Lekki Phase 1.

Interns shall  be paid a stipend during their internship.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE ?
The PR Fundamentals Internship Program seeks recent graduates with little or no prior experience in the field. Applicants must have graduated from the university before applying. Candidates also must have completed the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) Programme.

SELECTION PROCESS

All application forms must be submitted with:
  1. Three (3) written tests
  2. A current resume
  3. Two (2) signed letters of recommendation
(Preferably from lecturers or supervisors)
Each applicant shall be contacted by phone or e-mail about the status of his or her candidacy once the Human Resources department have reviewed all applications - typically four to six weeks after the application deadline. Those selected to move on in the process shall be contacted by phone to schedule an interview with an HR representative.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a second interview with PR Fundamentals Internship Programme Executives, either in person or through telephone. Applicants should be prepared to answer questions on the written samples submitted and the experiences listed on their resume.
Following completion of the interviews, a final slate of candidates shall be selected for admission into the PR Fundamentals Internship Programme. There is no set number of Interns for each session; the class size shall vary from session to session. All applicants shall be notified in writing about the final status of their application.
