Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Funds and Electronic Transfer Solutions (FETS)

Job Description

1. Operational/ Technical/ Professional Accountabilities
  • Translate the corporate strategy into a consumer centric marketing strategy that grows the FETS brands penetration and maximises the ROI, ensuring that:
    • Consumer Marketing Manager develops and manages an appropriate brand portfolio to meet consumer segment requirements
    • Channel, Trade Marketing & Distribution Manager develops and implements a trade marketing & distribution strategy that meets objectives set for agents and customer segments
    • Strategy, Planning & Insights Manager integrates market, consumer and customer insights across the marketing organisation, facilitating the formulation of the marketing strategy
  • Drive the implementation of the marketing strategy
    • Ensure that the marketing organisation develops and implements efficient and effective marketing programmes, resolving key trade-offs if necessary across the planning processes
    • Identify necessary changes in strategy and priorities during implementation
Optimise effectiveness and efficiency of company’s resources

2. Leadership Accountabilities
  • Ensure that all Marketing areas are well trained and motivated to develop and execute their activities in line with consumer segment requirements
  • Establish goals and key performance indicators for all Marketing areas and track ongoing results
  • Ensure compliance with CBN regulations and dissemination of knowledge and learning throughout the organisation, facilitating productivity gains and continuous improvement
  • Ensure talent strategy action plans are implemented for direct reports while ratifying career progression proposals for senior Marketing Leadership Team in order to build a sustainable talent pipeline
3. Management Accountabilities
  • Lead and drive the implementation of global initiatives in the local market
  • Set guidelines for a marketing organisation capable to deliver the consumer centric marketing strategy
  • Allocate budget for all Marketing areas with support from direct reports and Marketing Finance Manager
Drive an on-going process of marketing evaluation and innovation in order to achieve the maximum competitiveness in packaging, product, communications, price and image

  • Ideally around 8-10 years experience in the retail banking or FMCG category

The most important metrics by which successful performance will be judged are:
  • Overall sales volume
  • Overall market share
  • Brand fitness within target segments
  • Consumer Disposition Funnel analysis within the target segments
  • Brand portfolio financials (e.g., P&L, margin)
  • Product availability/ distribution targets
  • Customer satisfaction targets

Qualifications:
  • A BSC in Marketing/ Economics/ Business Administration or a related field
  • An MBA is compulsory
